Waitlist Policy
716 CERAMICS STUDIO maintains a waitlist for all classes, events, and Independent Study memberships once a program reaches capacity. You can join a waitlist anytime during open registration via our website, email, or front desk. Waitlists are specific to each session — being waitlisted for one class doesn't carry over to another.
HOW IT WORKS: Spots are offered strictly in order of sign-up. When one opens, we'll reach out by email and/or phone. You'll have 48 hours to confirm and pay in full, or the spot moves to the next person. For multi-week classes, openings after Week 3 typically won't be filled from the waitlist.
PAYMENT: A spot isn't held until payment is received — confirming interest alone doesn't reserve your place.
Removing yourself: You can leave the waitlist anytime before a spot is offered, no charge, no penalty. If you've already paid, standard cancellation policies apply.
NO GUARANTEES: Being on the list doesn't guarantee a spot — openings depend on cancellations or added capacity.
EXPIRATION: Class/event waitlists close on the session's start date. Independent Study waitlists are reviewed monthly; if nothing opens within 90 days, we'll check in about keeping your name on the list.
A FEW EXCEPTIONS: We may adjust order for prerequisite mismatches in advanced classes, group minimums for private events, or incomplete Independent Study applications.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: Keep your contact info current — we can't be responsible for missed offers due to outdated info or unchecked messages.
INDEPENDENT STUDY SPECIFICS: Applications (including portfolio) must be complete before joining the waitlist. New members complete a safety orientation, held once a month, before their first access date.
BYOB + Alcohol Policy
This policy applies to all events where outside beverages are permitted, including Sip & Spin, Clay for Two, and Private Events.
716 CERAMICS STUDIO does not hold a liquor license and does not serve, sell, or provide alcohol. Certain events are BYOB — guests may bring their own alcohol for personal consumption on-site.
21+ only. No exceptions. Supervising adults are responsible for ensuring minors in their party don't consume alcohol.
Studio disclaims responsibility for: the provision of alcohol; guests' conduct on or off premises; any injury, accident, or damage related to alcohol consumption; and guests' transportation. Guests are solely responsible for drinking responsibly, not driving impaired, and arranging their own safe transportation.
Studio reserves the right to: refuse entry to intoxicated guests, ask guests to stop drinking or leave if behavior is disruptive or unsafe, restrict impaired guests from pottery activities for safety, and end an event early if needed — without refund in cases of removal for alcohol-related conduct.
Containers: Guests provide their own cups/openers, dispose of all containers before leaving, and keep beverages away from clay stations, glaze buckets, and studio materials.
Legal notice: This policy establishes that 716 Ceramics Studio is not a licensed alcohol vendor and assumes no liability for guest alcohol consumption. It is not legal advice. Guests assume full personal liability for their own consumption and its consequences.
By attending a BYOB-permitted event, guests acknowledge they have read and agree to this policy.
Gift Card + Studio
Credit Policy
GIFT CARDS: Available at the front desk and online in preset amounts ($25–$200, custom amounts at management's discretion). Redeemable toward classes, workshops, private lessons, event deposits, memberships, and retail purchases (not applicable to Independent Study tuition after the first month). Present your card, physical or digital, at checkout — remaining balances stay on the card.
Per New York State law, our gift cards never expire and carry no dormancy or service fees. They're non-refundable, non-transferable (though giftable), and cannot be exchanged for cash. Lost/stolen cards can only be replaced if tied to a purchase record on file.
STUDIO CREDIT: A non-expiring account credit issued at management's discretion in place of a cash refund — typically for studio-initiated cancellations (a refund is always offered first), late cancellation requests, or documented extenuating circumstances. Non-transferable, non-cash, and issued case-by-case without setting precedent.
REFUNDS: Multi-week classes: 14-day refund window. One-time events: 14 days unless stated otherwise (e.g., Tiny Impressions: 48 hours). Private Lessons: 48-hour window. No refunds for no-shows or late cancellations; approved refunds are issued minus processing fees.
UPDATES: Policies may change; updates are posted at the front desk and online and won't affect gift cards already purchased.

Social Media Policy
STUDIO FEATURE: We love sharing student work, but featuring photos, stories, or submissions is entirely at our discretion — tagging or submitting content doesn't guarantee a post. If we feature your words, we may lightly edit for clarity or length.
TAGGING = CONSENT: Tagging @716Ceramicsstudio or using our hashtags grants us permission to repost that content on our channels. Want something taken down after a repost? Just notify us in writing and we'll remove it promptly.
IN-STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY: Document your process freely, but keep your camera focused on your own workspace — other students may not want to be on camera. No commercial filming, live streaming, or broadcasts without written studio approval. Small personal tripods are fine as long as they don't block pathways or instruction.
PROMOTIONAL PHOTOS: By registering for classes, workshops, or events, you acknowledge staff may take ambient photos/video for marketing. Camera-shy? Just let your instructor or the front desk know at the start of your session, and we'll keep you out of frame.
